Sparkling & Champagne
Honey Moon Vineyard has been producing boutique wines in the Hills for over twenty years. Their wines are thoughtfully crafted and hand disgorged for us weekly to ensure freshness. Based upon classic Champagne styles, this wine elevates South Australian sparkling production to a globally competitive level. Fresh still-on-the-stem citrus, hot croissants spread with rich butter and large flaky salt with tight acidity and power.
White
Let us make the choice for you. The above wine rotates with our food offering and is great value for money. Slight richness and vibrant acidity are the hallmarks of this drop. Mandarin peel, a touch of custards (patisserie and apple) with a subtle hint both of fresh and dried green spice. What could I be?
Grenache Blanc/Viognier et. al.
Rosé & Pink
This pink wine is a true work of art with intrinsic nods to time and place; served chilled and with gusto. Clarete is a near extinct style of winemaking in which grapes are hand picked, and quickly fermented when they have reached the desired ripeness. In this case, the two components of Viura and Garnacha were harvested three days apart resulting in texture, warmth and, as Scott says, “presence without tension”. Crisp green apples, apricot kernel and seashells give way to earthiness and dry florals.
Red
This Nebbiolo is in its prime. Perfectly rounded and generous, this expression of the King of Grapes cements Valtellina as the epicentre of Barolo’s approachable and slurpable cousin. Shining acidity, a waft of red brick dust on black berried brambles here we have an honest expression of the region. Subtle tannins that hint at wood give way to a hint of rose petals, juicy purple fruits and an ethereally fleshy body.
